Ozzie Ingram

Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Ozzie Ingram attended the University of Montevallo and the University of Alabama in Birmingham, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974. He received the Master of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1977 and the Doctor of Education from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2003.

Raised in the Roman Catholic faith, his paternal grandmother was Methodist and he often attended church with her. He was confronted with a personal relationship with Christ as a senior in high school and accepted Christ as personal Savior in August after high school graduation. Thereafter, Ozzie was very active in the youth and music ministries of Hunter Street Baptist Church, in Birmingham, Alabama.

Ingram currently serves as Associate Vice President for Administrative Affairs at Dallas Baptist University. During his nine years at DBU, he has served in positions such as Dean of the Weekend College, Acting Dean of the College of Business, and Dean of the College of Adult Education. He considers his spiritual gifts to be administration and teaching.

For more than twenty years, Ingram served local Southern Baptist churches as a youth minister, minister of music, minister of education, minister of outreach, and business administrator. In most of these positions, he directed music programs for youth including youth choirs, youth ensembles, orchestras, and handbell choirs.

Ingram has been a writer of youth and adult Sunday School and Discipleship Training curriculum for LifeWay Christian Resources (formerly The Sunday School Board of the Southern Baptist Convention). The author of numerous youth ministry articles, devotionals, and online curriculum supplements, his first book, What Would Jesus Do: Youth Interactive Edition, was published by Convention Press in 1998.

Ingram has also served as a contract consultant for LifeWay, providing training in youth Sunday School and Discipleship, traveling to many states in this service, and serving on the faculty for their national training centers in North Carolina and New Mexico. He also served as a consultant/trainer for the Sunday School and Discipleship Training departments of the Alabama Baptist Convention, Louisiana Baptist Convention, Kentucky Baptist Convention, and Tennessee Baptist Convention.

Married to Ann Lochamy Ingram for more than 33 years, he is father of two sons: Josh and Jared.

Ingram enjoys model railroading, duck and deer hunting, and music (singing, handbells, playing piano, organ, and violin - though not all at the same time) – and especially singing with the Broken Cords.
