Cindy Lou Hodges
Cindy happily admits that she was born a Texan but grew
up in southern Oklahoma, feeling that she is a part of both
states. She, her husband, and their son moved to Arlington in 1982
where they have been members at First Baptist Church ever since. Having
served as church organist or pianist “off & on” and "here & there" in
Texas and Oklahoma since she was eleven years old, Cindy stayed busy
until she “retired” as a church musician.
But then, the Broken Cords came along needing an accompanist, and with renewed enthusiasm she jumped back into the swing of things! Cindy is seen in the area playing for weddings and other special occasions as a solo artist as well as with other musicians. Or you may have seen her sharing her testimony through her musical programs embellished with her original cartoon characters “Cindy Lou”, “Aunt Lu”, “Helga” & other favorites from “Lu-Lu Land”.
“Wherever I go, whatever I do, I try to listen to the
music… for it is always there. And, sometimes, I get to play & sing
along with it! What fun! It just doesn’t get any better than that, at
least not here on earth!” “O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath
done marvelous things…” Psalm 98:1
